The holidays just started. I've decided to give you ONLINE holiday homework through your FACEBOOK account. So while doing my homework, you'll still get to play around!

TASK 1:
For ALL 3E1, 3E4 Social Studies & 3E Elective Geog students.
1. You are to login to FACEBOOK or create an account if you don't have any.
2. You are to to search for me in facebook & add me as a friend so that I can invite you into your following discussion groups. Search me under friend finder as 'farhanah jumadi'.

TASK 2:
1. Once you have logged in & are invited into the group, you will see several posts on the discussion board. You are to answer all the questions by posting your answers on the board. Marks will be awarded for everey relevant and intelligent posting.

FUN ON FOOT MARATHON

ATTN ALL STUDENTS,

If you are keen in joining the Fun-On-Foot Marathon held at Suntec City on 19 July 2007 (7.30am - 3.30pm).
Do approach me latest by Monday, so that I can register for you through the school.

Number of students per team: 4
You can form a team from your class, a combined team from 2/3 classes.. it's up to you. As long as there is 4 students per group, you're up for the competition.

More Information on the competition can be found thru the Heritage Fest 2008 website.

What are the prizes?
1st Prize - $1000 + Champion Trophy
2nd Prize - $800
3rd Prize - $ 500
4th & 5th Prize - $ 300

So, if you are interested, inform me of your groups thru the online forum at the bottom of my page so that I can pass you the registration form.

1. Download the file titled '3E SS Holiday Assignment' located under the ASSIGNMENT category in the BV Portal.
2. Read the instructions given in the file and do the assignment.
3. Hand in the assignment when school reopens.
4. Marks from this assignment will be taken for your CA3.

4N Social Studies Students

1. You are to read up Chapter 2 of Social Studies Textbook 4 (Purple in colour) during the holidays.
2. Those who have yet to purchase the book, do buy it during the holidays.
3. Look out for more posts or updates to download files from the portal.

5N Holiday Assignment

I have uploaded an essay questions for all 5Ns to do. You are to hand in the assignment when school reopens.
You can type or write your answers. All assignments are to be printed and handed in on the first day of Geog lesson in Semester 2.

5N1 & 5N3 students are to download the assignment file from the BV Portal under the 'ASSIGNMENT' category.

5N2 have already been given the worksheet, thus hand it in when school reopens and not on 28 May 08, as been informed in class today!

• I have given you a worksheet this morning (SBQ Skills-Reliability).
• I need you to type me your answers to the reliability question.
• Instead of writing it on pg 3 of the worksheet, email me your answers.

1. I have uploaded several files for your own revision. You will need to login to the BV Portal to access my homepage & download all the files.
2. There are several webquests for you to practise on you SBQ skills.

• Most of the SBQ webquests are .zip files. Thus you will need winrar application to extract all the files.
• Once you have extract all the files into a folder, you are to open the file titled, "Index" (a html file).
• It will open in your IE application and just follow the instructions on the Webquest to aid in your understanding of the SBQ skills.

5N Geog Students

You are to download FREE Google Earth application onto your computer.

What is Google Earth?

You can learn how to use the software from the tutorial posted on the website itself.
I will use this software for maps and other physical or human landscapes studies in your lesson.
